Missing Sync gets 1.7 update on Android Market

We have a new 1.7 update to the Android Missing Sync now available on Google Play (formerly known as Android Market), which contains improvements to Proximity Sync, and a fix for an issue that had been seen on select ICS (Android 4.0) devices.

The big improvement, for everyone using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to sync, is that we have dramatically improved how proximity sync works. There are now far more circumstances in which we can tell that the phone or tablet has come within range of the Mac or PC than in previous versions.

For ICS devices, we also fixed an issue where phones that did not have any physical keys were not providing access to the menu containing (among other things) access to the application settings. On tablets and devices with physical keys, this had not been an issue.

Missing Sync on BlackBerry PlayBook

As of today, Missing Sync is now available in App World on the BlackBerry PlayBook.

In our intial release, we are supporting Wi-Fi sync to our Mac and PC versions of The Missing Sync for Android.

With the addition of this sync client on the PlayBook, the following data types can now sync to a Mac or PC running Missing Sync:
  • Videos
  • Pictures
  • Music

And with our Fliq Notes, Tasks, Bookmarks and Calendar apps (free downloads in App World) installed on the PlayBook, you can also sync:
  • Calendar Events
  • Notes
  • Tasks
  • Bookmarks
We are working with RIM developer support to bring support for additional data types (for example, Podcasts) in the future.

While the fact that we use Missing Sync for Android on the desktop side may seem odd, it will make more sense later on. We are planning to merge our current Missing Sync for BlackBerry and Missing Sync for Android into a single Missing Sync product.

If you are a current Missing Sync for Android customer, enjoy this additional device support.

For our Missing Sync for BlackBerry customers on the Mac, you'll notice one big change -- we support the playbook on both Mac and Windows PC!

If you are a past Missing Sync for BlackBerry customer, take advantage of our upgrade pricing for Mac or Windows to get a customer appreciation discount.

Fliq Bookmarks for BlackBerry PlayBook

The latest of our apps to come over to the PlayBook is Fliq Bookmarks.

With Fliq Bookmarks, you can (more easily) manage bookmarks on the device, and if you combine it with Missing Sync for Mac or PC, you can also move your desktop bookmarks over to the PlayBook.

Check it out in BlackBerry App World.

At this point we have one app left to go -- getting Missing Sync on BlackBerry App World. We are very close, and just have a few minor changes to make before it is ready for release.

Fliq Tasks Update for Android

We have recently released a minor bug-fix update to Fliq Tasks in the Android market.

There is one new feature, the ability to edit the color of tasks in the "Unfiled" category, and several bug fixes.

Fliq Tasks and Fliq Calendar for PlayBook

Three down, one to go.

Fliq Tasks and Fliq Calendar are now in BlackBerry App World for the PlayBook.

We are awaiting approval for Missing Sync in the BlackBerry App World.

Once Missing Sync becomes available on the PlayBook, you'll be able to sync the various Fliq apps with your Mac or PC, as well as sync media (video, photos, music).

We'll post to the blog as soon as that happens.

iOS updates to Fliq Notes, Fliq Tasks, Fliq Documents

Our updates to the iPhone/iPod Touch versions of Fliq Notes, Fliq Tasks and Fliq Docs are now live via iTunes and the app store.

All of the apps have had minor bug fixes implemented, tested with iOS 3 thru 5, and updated for iOS 5.

Fliq Notes for BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM has recently updated the BlackBerry PlayBook to version 2, and the update brings an enhanced Android app compatibility feature that we are now supporting.

The first of our Android apps to enter BlackBerry App World is Fliq Notes. Just as on other platforms, we take advantage of the extra screen on the PlayBook to present a nice tablet optimized experience.

Our other Fliq apps and Missing Sync are soon to follow. The combination will allow you to manage notes, tasks and other data types on the PlayBook, and keep them in sync with your Mac or PC.

Fliq for iOS Updated

We've been catching up the last month or so on updates to our applications, and the latest to benefit is the  iPhone and iPad Touch version of Fliq.

This is a housekeeping version that fixes reported bugs, adds higher resolution graphics in support of retina display devices, and has been tested with iOS versions 3 thru 5.

Fliq can be used to "beam" contacts, photos, documents and more between iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac and PC.

You can download the iOS version via the app store, and visit out web site to learn more about the Mac and PC version.
